Police hunt gunmen after deadly attack on ADRA Timber workers

Two security guards working for ADRA Timber Company have been shot dead in an attack at the company’s concession in the Mpamso Forest near Nsuhia in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region.

The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday when about 200 armed men, believed to be illegal chainsaw operators, stormed the site with guns and machetes.

The victims, identified as 34-year-old Sam Aliyu and 35-year-old Ibrahim Musa, were on duty when the group launched the assault. Both men were killed during the attack.

A Toyota pickup truck with registration number GT 3079-17 was found at the scene, completely burnt.

Police have begun investigations and launched a manhunt for the attackers. Authorities say they are working to bring those responsible to justice.
