The Ghana Police Service has commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of two persons in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region.
The two incidents were recorded today, June 18, 2024, at the Wa East Education Service office and the Wa Model JHS School.
“We would like to assure the public, especially the residents of Wa, to remain calm as the Police work to get those involved arrested to face justice,” the police said in a statement shared on Facebook.
Two local security personnel have been killed in separate incidents in Wa, with allegations of ritual murder resurfacing in the municipality.
A 62-year-old security man at the Wa East District Education Service office was found dead on Tuesday morning at Konta, a suburb of Wa. The cause of death is not immediately known, but many suspect it is a ritual killing.
According to sources, the elderly security man was hit with a stone on the head and later slaughtered by his assailants.
In another incident, a security man at Wa Model Basic School has also been found murdered and buried, with fire set on the spot where he was buried.
