The Ghana Police Service says calm has been restored at Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region after a violent clash involving a group of young men armed with cutlasses at the New Station area.
In a statement issued by the Eastern South Regional Police Command, officers said they responded after videos of the incident circulated online showing the men attacking one another in public.
Police said two suspects were later traced to separate hospitals in the town while receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the clash.
One of the suspects, 30 year old George Okyere, was found at the Oda Jubilee Hospital with a deep cut on his forehead and a severed finger on his right hand.
Another suspect, identified as Paul Pascalele, was receiving treatment at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital for a deep cut on his right hand.
The police also confirmed the arrest of a third suspect, Evans Adayele, who was picked up from his hideout to assist with investigations.
The command said efforts were ongoing to arrest other suspects linked to the violence for prosecution.
