The Ghana Police Service has implemented stringent security measures at collation centers nationwide as the country transitions from voting to results collation.
This move aims to maintain law and order during the critical phase of the electoral process.
The police said in a statement that only accredited individuals will be granted access to the centers.
These include media personnel, candidates and their agents, accredited observers, and individuals accredited by the Electoral Commission.
“All persons entering collation centers across the country will be screened,” the statement emphasized, underscoring the commitment to preventing unauthorized access.
Additionally, the police have imposed vehicle restrictions, prohibiting unauthorized vehicles from entering the premises and banning motorbikes within 100 meters of the centers.
The police urged stakeholders to comply fully with these arrangements, stressing the importance of integrity in the electoral process.
“We advise all stakeholders to follow these mechanisms until the process is completed,” the statement concluded.
