Police to arraign 26 suspects for brandishing toy guns in public

Some twenty-six (26) persons have been apprehended by the Ghana Police Service for brandishing and indiscriminately firing toy guns in a public place.

In a public notice on Monday, November 25, the police said the individuals will soon be arraigned and charged for offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace, contrary to section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

According to the statement from the Police, the suspects are currently assisting with investigations.

The Police retrieved a quantity of toy guns from the suspects as part of their investigation into the menace, which is becoming a trend in some parts of the country.

The Police have cautioned the youth to desist from such acts, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the country.
