A national governance tracking poll by Global InfoAnalytics has reported strong public approval for the direction of the country and the performance of ‘comeback president’ John Dramani Mahama.
The publication, titled National Tracking Poll: Governance and Performance – Part One, conducted between December 1 and 21, 2025, forms part of a continuing assessment of public sentiment on governance under the Mahama administration.
The poll engaged 13,495 respondents across 83 constituencies through web, telephone and face-to-face interviews. It was carried out with a 99 per cent confidence level and a margin of error of ±1.1 per cent.
The findings were released in Accra on December 29 by the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mr Mussa Dankwah.
According to the results, 66 per cent of respondents believe the country is heading in the right direction, while 24 per cent say the national trajectory is negative.
Ten per cent of voters were undecided. Respondents in all 16 regions reportedly shared the view that Ghana is moving in a positive direction.
On presidential job performance, the survey places President Mahama’s approval at 67 per cent, the same as the previous quarter, with disapproval recorded at 24 per cent. The report indicates that the President’s support base extends beyond traditional governing party strongholds, with favourable ratings reported in some opposition areas.
However, the data shows a sharp divide along party lines. Within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), 93 per cent of supporters expressed approval of the President’s performance.
Among backers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), 28 per cent approved of his leadership, while 61 per cent disapproved. Floating voters registered a 69 per cent approval rating.
