Parts of Greater Kumasi experienced a temporary power outage on Sunday after a minor technical fault was detected at the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo).
The fault led to a reduction in electricity supply to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), resulting in power disruptions across several affected communities in the metropolis.
In a statement issued by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), both GRIDCo and ECG confirmed that technical teams have been deployed to address the problem and restore power as quickly as possible.
According to the notice, engineers from the two power institutions are working jointly to fix the fault and stabilise electricity supply to affected areas.
Meanwhile, security patrols have been intensified within the affected communities to ensure public safety and maintain order during the outage.
Residents have been urged to remain calm and patient while repair works continue.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank residents for their patience and cooperation,” the statement said.
