President Mahama to open ADEA 2025 Triennale in Accra

Accra will host Africa’s biggest education gathering later this month as the Ministry of Education and the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) prepare for the 2025 Triennale on Education and Training. The conference will run from October 29 to 31, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel.

The three-day event, themed “Strengthening the resilience of Africa’s educational systems: Advancing towards ending learning poverty by 2035 with a well-educated and skilled workforce for the continent and beyond,” will bring together government officials, educators, researchers, and development partners from across Africa and beyond.

President John Dramani Mahama is expected to open the conference, which will feature high-level panel discussions, keynote addresses by global experts, and breakout sessions on topics such as foundational learning, education financing, teacher development, leadership, technology, and skills training.

The Triennale will also showcase innovations in education through exhibition booths, offering participants opportunities to network with policymakers, educators, and investors shaping Africa’s learning future.

Media representatives, both local and international, have been invited to register for coverage by October 20, 2025, through the official ADEA portal. Accredited journalists will have access to a media centre with facilities for print, broadcast, and online reporting.

The Ministry of Education said the conference will be an opportunity to take stock of progress made in strengthening education systems across Africa while sharing lessons and exploring solutions to reduce learning poverty.
