One of Ghana’s arguably great gospel musicians, Professor McAbraham has narrated some of the challenges he has faced in the country’s gospel music industry.
According to McAbraham, some of the challenges he faced mainly emanated from some of his colleagues who also identify themselves as gospel musicians.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Angel FM, the Akyiwadee, Nhyira Ne Nnome, Chacha, Nyame Boame hitmaker disclosed that a colleague of his sent his image and one of his albums to a juju man to either silence or kill him.
Although he failed to mention the name of the culprit, he revealed that he got wind of the act when another gospel musician visited the same shrine and saw his album and image with the juju man.
He said this person then called him to inform him.
“It has continued for several times. That story you heard was very interesting. I have clarified it somewhere before. It was someone who called me on the phone to tell me that my picture is somewhere. That was the time I had released “Nea Afa Mani So…..” So the person didn’t only take my picture but also the album. The person wanted the man to silence me since whenever I make a song, the public does not patronize theirs. The question I asked the person was: What are you also doing there? I didn’t go to the place, I didn’t do anything but you are a witness to what that song did. It was hit in the whole world not only Ghana,” he narrated.
