Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has emphasized the need for meticulous and modern preparations as the Black Stars gear up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The four-time African champions are poised to make their fifth appearance on football’s grandest stage. Queiroz has outlined a structured strategy focused on fine-tuning every aspect of the team’s performance.
Speaking on the Beyond The Whistle podcast, the former Manchester United assistant manager underlined the need for a comprehensive preparation model, pointing to key areas such as nutrition, fitness, physiotherapy, tactical discipline, and set-piece organisation.
“We have to put the right preparation in place — training, diet, nutrition, physios, fitness, and the details of set pieces,” Queiroz said.
The Black Stars will begin their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
As part of their build-up, Ghana are scheduled to play international friendlies against Mexico later this month and Wales on June 2, giving Queiroz further opportunity to assess his squad.
