Ghana Water Ltd has announced temporary disruptions to water supply in parts of western Accra following a technical fault at the Weija Water Treatment Plant.
The utility says the problem has affected water production and distribution, leading to irregular supply and low water pressure in several communities.
Areas expected to be affected include Dansoman, Mamprobi, Mataheko, Laterbiokorshie, Korle Bu, La Paz, MacCarthy Hill, Gbawe, Mallam, Tesano, Darkuman, North Kaneshie, Dome, Achimota, Anyaa and Ablekuma, along with surrounding communities.
The management of Ghana Water Ltd says engineers are working to resolve the fault and restore normal supply as quickly as possible.
Residents have been advised to store water whenever it flows in their communities to help manage the disruption.
Essential service providers have also been encouraged to contact their assembly members or reach the company’s call centre for assistance on 0800 40 000 for Telecel users only, or 0302218240, 0207385087, 0207385088, 0207385089 and 0207385090 for all networks.
