Founder and President of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, is urging the Black Stars technical team to include André Ayew back in the squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Speaking on GTV, Dr. Tetteh highlighted Ayew’s experience, professionalism, and motivational qualities as vital assets for a team undergoing significant transition.
“We are privileged to have many football icons. Even before Abedi Pele, we had people who played very well for Ghana, like Baba Yara, Polo, and others. Today, I think we should get Dede Ayew. I am campaigning for him to join the Black Stars team,” Dr. Tetteh said.
At 36, Ayew has been absent from the Black Stars since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, but he has returned to club football with NAC Breda in the Dutch league. Despite the club’s relegation, his international future is once again in focus.
Dr. Tetteh emphasized Ayew’s leadership pedigree, recalling his triumph with Ghana’s Under-20 team in Egypt 2009, where he led the squad to victory.
“The boy plays with his might. He carries his father’s spirit. Dede Ayew is a motivator. He is very experienced, and by the grace of God, he’s still performing at a high level. We should give him the chance,” Dr. Tetteh added.
