Salisu, Semenyo score debut goals to beat Switzerland in pre-World Cup friendly

The Blackstars in their friendly match with Switzerland today, November 17, 2022, emerged victorious beating the Swiss in Abu Dhabi with two goals.

The strike from both the Southampton player, Mohammed Salisu and Antione Semenyo ensured Ghana’s victory in the match.

The Southampton defender, Mohammed Salisu in the 70th minute of the game, made his debut goal after rifling the ball into the net.

The international friendly was Ghana’s third pre-World Cup friendly after the disappointing loss to Brazil and the lame 1-0 win over Nicaragua in September.

The match gave both teams an opportunity to assess their strength ahead of the FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar.

The Blackstars will now take on Portugal in their first game on November 2, 2022, before playing against South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2, 2022, respectively at the tournament in Qatar.

Switzerland on its part begins its campaign against Cameroon next Thursday, November 24, 2022, before taking on Brazil and Serbia.
