Ghanaian rap powerhouse Sarkodie is locked in for the Afro+ Festival, North America’s biggest Afro-Caribbean hip-hop extravaganza.
The 15th-anniversary blowout hits Northwest Stadium in Maryland’s DMV area over Labor Day weekend, September 4–6.
Davido and Wizkid top the bill, joined by a stellar first-wave lineup featuring Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Adekunle Gold, Ruger, as well as global stars Latto and Lil Baby. The gig further cements Sarkodie’s growing dominance in the North American market, adding to his string of international triumphs.

Massive crowds are expected for the three-day fusion of Afrobeats, dancehall, and hip-hop, building on the success of previous sold-out editions. Tickets are expected to go on sale soon.
September 2026 will see several Afro-centric festivals take place across the United States, celebrating music, dance, art, and cuisine rooted in African and Diasporic culture. Highlights include Africa Fest in Virginia on September 5, Brooklyn’s 10th Annual Art Is Alive on September 13, and the Roots and Reconnection Festival on September 12.
Known for selling out international venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Sarkodie has also set the stage for a future The O2 Arena show. His inclusion elevates the festival lineup and reinforces his status as a pioneer of African rap.
Sarkodie’s performance is anticipated to bridge the gap between Ghanaian rap and the American audience, bringing authentic Twi lyrics and high-energy performances to a wider global audience.
