The Ghana School Feeding Programme has resumed for the first term of the 2025/2026 academic year, providing hot meals to thousands of pupils across the country from Tuesday, September 2.
The initiative, under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, will continue to serve one nutritious meal each school day to children in participating basic schools. Officials say the move is aimed at boosting school enrolment, improving nutrition and enhancing learning outcomes.
Caterers contracted under the programme have been tasked to uphold the highest standards of quality, hygiene and quantity as they prepare and serve meals.
In a statement, the Public Relations Director of the programme, Siiba Alfa, urged service providers to remain diligent in their work to ensure the continued success of the policy.
“We are committed to working with all stakeholders to sustain and improve the programme for the benefit of our school children and the development of our nation,” the statement added.
