Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has officially teamed up with the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) to support tertiary education in Ghana, marking a major shift in his philanthropy toward education and youth development.
On April 15, 2026, Shatta Wale joined the Board and Management of the SLTF to pay a courtesy call on the Minister for Education, where they announced the partnership ahead of the Fund’s 20th anniversary.
Shatta Wale hinted at a “great” upcoming initiative for students, stressing that ‘Education is Key’to national progress and that the collaboration will help expand financial support and access to quality tertiary education.
The partnership builds on Shatta Wale’s past individual acts of kindness, such as giving GHC 20,000 to a rising artist, Priscilla, to support her education after seeing her artwork, and helping others with nursing school fees.
Through his “Shatta Foundation,” he has increasingly focused on empowering young people, with strong emphasis on education, skills training, and financial literacy.
