Sheikh Napari prays for vice president Prof. Naana Jane, urges religious leaders to promote unity

Executive Director of The Light Foundation, Sheikh Abubakar Ali Napari, has extended his well-wishes and prayers to Vice President Professor Naana Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who is currently unwell.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Metro News, the respected Islamic cleric called on all religious leaders to uplift their voices in prayer and positivity, rather than sowing fear or division.

Sheikh Napari emphasized the critical role religious figures play in shaping the spiritual and emotional climate of the nation, especially in sensitive moments such as these.

“Religious leaders are tasked to share peace, teach peace, and provide peace. We must not use our platforms to project doom or despair, especially when one of our national leaders is unwell,” he stated.

He further urged all well-meaning imams and clerics to remain serene and constructive in their messages during such times, warning that negative declarations can deepen division and erode trust among citizens.

“Comments of doom bring division and destroy relationships among ourselves. Our words carry weight, and we must use them to inspire hope, not fear,” Sheikh Napari added.

The Light Foundation, under Sheikh Napari’s leadership, has consistently advocated for interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence. His latest remarks come at a time when national unity and compassion are more important than ever, as Ghanaians from all walks of life continue to pray for the swift recovery of Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

The Sheikh concluded his interview with a call for national reflection, urging both leaders and citizens to demonstrate empathy, patience, and unity in the face of adversity.
