Shock in Abesim as charms and buried pig found at church site

Residents of Abesim in the Bono Region are in shock after construction workers uncovered a buried pig, a skull, and several spiritual charms at the site of the Eternalife Church of Nations.

The discovery was made on Wednesday afternoon at Maame Serwaa Junction when masons began digging the foundation of a new building on the grounds of the now-defunct church. The workers reportedly found the items beneath the old foundation, sparking panic and curiosity among locals.

Videos circulating online show the charms being pulled from the soil, including a bottle believed to contain spiritual substances, toys, salt, and animal remains. The items were allegedly buried under the altar and at the entrance of the church, which had collapsed earlier.

The church was founded by Prophetess Anita Emefa, who is said to be on the run. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

While the purpose of the buried objects is unclear, the revelation has stirred debate and speculation about the activities that once took place in the church.

Some residents who spoke to Sunyani-based Ark FM said they were shocked, describing the prophetess as a woman known for performing miracles and claiming healing powers. Others, however, said they were not surprised, citing her “strange teachings” and the secretive instructions she often gave her members.

The discovery has drawn large crowds to the site, with many still struggling to understand what may have motivated the prophetess to bury the items beneath her church. Authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
