President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has delivered an emotional farewell message to Ghanaians, thanking them for the privilege of serving as President for the past eight years.

In his final State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament on Friday, January 3, President Akufo-Addo reflected on his administration’s achievements, including the Free Senior High School programme, which has provided education to over five million students.

He also highlighted progress in Technical and Vocational Education and Training, citing the retooling of existing institutions and the establishment of 35 new ones.

President Akufo-Addo commended the collective effort of Ghanaians in driving the country forward and pledged to continue supporting Ghana’s progress even after his presidency.

The outgoing president also expressed his deepest condolences to the thousands of traders who lost their wares in the catastrophic fire at Kantamanto in the Greater Accra Region.
