Member of Parliament for Jirapa, Cletus Seidu Dapilah, says President John Dramani Mahama’s recent State of the Nation Address offers a clear and practical plan to revive the economy, create jobs and restore hope.
Speaking on Metro TV’s flagship programme Good Morning Ghana on Monday, the Jirapa lawmaker said the President’s speech went beyond political rhetoric and addressed the daily concerns of ordinary Ghanaians.
“President Mahama has Ghana at heart. His address was not just words, it outlined practical steps to fix the economy, create jobs, and unite Ghanaians,” Mr Dapilah said during the live discussion.
According to him, the President’s focus on agriculture, infrastructure and youth empowerment directly reflects the needs of communities in the Upper West Region and across the country.
He said many young people in his constituency are looking for opportunities, and initiatives aimed at supporting farming and small businesses could provide much needed relief.
Mr Dapilah also pointed to the President’s commitment to stabilising the cedi and strengthening local industries as critical steps toward economic recovery.
He said flooding in urban areas, which was emphasized in the address, remains a serious concern for many families and businesses, and welcomed plans to tackle the problem.
The MP dismissed criticism from the opposition New Patriotic Party, insisting that the President’s vision is rooted in inclusive growth and national unity.
“This is leadership with purpose. Ghanaians will see results soon,” he said.
President Mahama delivered the State of the Nation Address last week, outlining measures aimed at restoring economic stability, supporting local production and addressing infrastructure challenges.
