Sosu vents frustration over abandoned road projects in Madina

Mr. Francis Xavier Kojo Sosu, Member of Parliament for Madina, has expressed concern over the slow pace of road construction in his constituency.

Speaking on Original FM’sAdwenekasa” programme, Mr. Sosu noted that 21 road projects awarded since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took office in 2017 were yet to be completed, hindering the physical development of the area.

The Madina legislator, who is also a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said the absence of essential amenities like roads, schools, hospitals, and marketplaces was putting pressure on residents.

To address these challenges, Mr. Sosu said he had initiated various social development projects, including medical outreaches that had benefited over 10,000 constituents and the establishment of the Madina Job Center, which had provided employment opportunities to more than 7,000 people.

On his legislative contributions, Mr. Sosu said he had introduced 17 private members’ bills, including three law bills, one of which, the Criminal Offences Amendment Act 2023, had been signed into law by the President.

He said he was committed to retaining his seat in the 2024 elections and was implementing various strategies, including the People’s Tour, Churches Tour, and the modernization of the Madina Market, to enhance the constituency.

Mr. Sosu expressed optimism that the NDC’s proposal for a 24-hour economy would bring significant transformation and progress to Madina.
