A teenager has died after her stepfather allegedly sexually assaulted and later attacked her with cement blocks in Domeabra, a suburb of Agona Ahanta in the Western Region.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 3:00 a.m. on Monday, 1st June 2026. Police are searching for the suspect, who is currently on the run.
According to accounts from the community, the victim was allegedly sexually and physically assaulted while her hands were tied with a rope. She was reportedly left in a weakened condition on a road after the attack.
Residents said two farmers heading to their farms found the woman dragging herself along the ground and calling for help. The pair allegedly untied her and attempted to take her to a hospital for treatment.
However, witnesses claimed the suspect suddenly appeared, overpowered the two men and took the young girl away before they could get her to safety.
The farmers are said to have raised the alarm and sought assistance from other residents and authorities.
When they returned to the scene, they reportedly found the woman critically injured after being attacked with cement blocks.
She was rushed to hospital but died on the way, according to residents.
Police have launched investigations into the incident and are searching for the suspect.
