STMA faces Public Account Committee over unaccounted budget for toilet facilities

The Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) is facing the Public Account Committee of Parliament over an accounted-for budget allocated for toilet facilities in the assembly.

According to the committee, the budget earmarked for specific toilet facility projects within the Metropolitan Area have declared dysfunctional and therefore ought not to have attracted any budgetary allocation.

This came up after the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament began a  tour of the country to probe into activities of public sector institutions captured by the Auditor General report.

Currently in Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Area, the Committee began its sitting on Monday for both Western and Central Regions.

Out of the ongoing probing of activities, the management of toilet facilities within the Metropolitan area featured prominently and the committee is unhappy with activities carried out by the Assembly.
