Ghanaian dancehall Stonebwoy made a visit to Nsawam Medium Security Prison on Monday, April 13, 2026, alongside his wife Dr. Louisa Satekla and The Livingstone Foundation team to boost inmate welfare.
Stonebwoy moved to tears upon recognizing a childhood friend from Ashaiman among the over 3,000 inmates, he donated essentials like rice, gari, water, toiletries, and drinks.
He performed briefly for the prisoners and committed to annual visits for ongoing motivation.
Reflecting afterward, the artiste emphasized the “thin line between freedom and confinement,” warning against rash decisions since prisons offer no comfort and anyone could end up there.
He defended his genuine empathy for suffering, rooted in his disciplined upbringing and Christian faith that “when you give, you get.”
The visit was received with gratitude by the prison’s leadership, including Eastern Regional Commander DDP Patrick Thomas Seidu, who briefed the team on the facility’s ongoing vocational and educational rehabilitation programs.
