Stonebwoy has won the top prize at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards(TGMA), beating five other nominees to take home the Artiste of the Year award.
The ‘Into The Future’ crooner also won five other awards, including Best International Collaboration, Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist, Songwriter of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Dancehall Artiste.
In his acceptance speech, Stonebwoy thanked God and his fans, and also appealed to the awards organizers to announce the results of the 2019 Ghana Music Awards, which were halted due to a dispute.
“I just want to say thanks to the Most High God. Thank you mama wherever you are, thank you for showering your blessings upon your son. I wrote a long speech but I am lost for words,” Stonebwoy said.
This is Stonebwoy’s second Artiste of the Year award, after previously winning in 2015.
Born Livingstone Etse Satekla joins Sarkodie and VIP as the only artists to have won the award multiple times.
