A group of around 60 Ghanaians and other nationals living in the US, UK, Canada, and other countries have accused Sucasa Properties, a Ghanaian real estate company, of breaching a contract to build homes within four months.
These distressed buyers are pointing fingers at Sucasa Properties and for violating their contract. They are demanding immediate delivery of their homes or they will take legal action against him.
The group of deeply frustrated and disappointed clients explained that they paid significant amounts to Sucasa Properties for three- and four-bedroom units several years ago, yet the company has failed to fulfill its promises.
In a media interaction in Accra, the group’s spokesperson, Mr. Derrick Neufville, expressed their grievances.
“Sucasa Properties was supposed to deliver these homes within four months of payment, as stated in our contract. This means some homes should have been handed over by April 2023, with others due even earlier,” he said.
“But the company has unilaterally postponed the delivery dates four times now, each time offering a different excuse. No one knows how much longer this will drag on,” he added.
Mr. Neufville emphasized that despite many clients paying in full and others strictly following the payment plan, the company’s failure to deliver is causing severe stress and financial hardships among the buyers.
He highlighted the financial strain on the clients, who are forced to pay exorbitant hotel bills every time they visit Ghana. Many are left with no choice but to stay with friends or family, causing them great embarrassment.
“We are calling on Sucasa Properties to deliver the homes, or we will take matters into our own hands,” Mr. Neufville warned.
Meanwhile, another group of clients in the US has already filed a lawsuit against Sucasa Properties for a similar breach of contract.
