SWAG congratulates Samson Deen on re-election as APC President

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has congratulated Mr. Samson Deen on his re-election as President of the African Paralympic Committee (APC), describing his victory as a resounding endorsement of his leadership and commitment to the Paralympic movement on the continent.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, SWAG said it “extends its warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Samson Deen on his resounding re-election as the President of the African Paralympic Committee (APC).”

The Association lauded Mr. Deen’s stewardship over the years, emphasizing that his renewed mandate affirms the confidence the African sports community has in his ability to drive progress and inclusion within the Paralympic fraternity.

“Mr. Deen’s re-election is a powerful affirmation of the trust and confidence placed in his dynamic leadership and his unwavering commitment to advancing the Paralympic movement across the African continent,” the statement read.

According to SWAG, Mr. Deen’s first term brought “increased visibility, professionalization, and support to para-athletes,” which set the stage for further growth and transformation within African Paralympic sports.

The statement also highlighted Mr. Deen’s role as a “tireless champion for inclusion and equal opportunity in sports,” commending his efforts to ensure African para-athletes receive world-class platforms to excel on the global stage.

SWAG expressed immense pride in his accomplishments, noting that his leadership continues to project Ghana positively in international sports administration.

“We are immensely proud of his continuous exemplary service at the highest level of African sports administration. We wish him a successful and impactful second term as he works to break new barriers and achieve greater heights for the African Paralympic Committee,” the Association added.

Mr. Samson Deen, a respected Ghanaian sports administrator, has been instrumental in promoting para-sports development and advocacy for athletes with disabilities across Africa.
