The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Techiman North, Adom K. Johnson, has expressed deep concern over rising health challenges in the district, particularly the increasing cases of HIV/AIDS and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), following a joint District Health and HIV/AIDS Committee meeting held on Monday.
The meeting, convened by Mr. Johnson, brought together key stakeholders to assess the health situation in the district and develop actionable strategies for improvement. A situational report presented by the District Health Director revealed a worrying upward trend in HIV/AIDS infections and NCDs — a development the DCE described as alarming.
“This calls for an urgent intensification of public education on HIV/AIDS to curtail the spread and protect lives,” Mr. Johnson stated. “Health is the bedrock of every thriving community, and we are determined to leave no one behind.”
Contributions from committee members, including health professionals and community leaders, were hailed as insightful and productive. The session reaffirmed the district’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and promoting the well-being of all residents.
The DCE emphasized that the district leadership is focused on strengthening health systems and ensuring accessible services across communities.
“We can’t fail our generation. Together, we will build a stronger and healthier Techiman North,” he concluded.
The meeting marks a renewed push by the district to prioritize health as a critical component of development and resilience, especially among vulnerable groups.
