President John Dramani Mahama has reminded Ghanaians that technology, when used wisely, is more than innovation—it’s a catalyst for equality and national transformation.
“Technology is not just a tool,” he said at the launch of the One Million Coders programme in Accra.
“It is a force for equality, transparency, and empowerment—if used wisely and inclusively.”
This philosophy underpins the One Million Coders Programme (OMCP), Ghana’s most ambitious digital literacy initiative to date. Beyond numbers and job statistics, OMCP represents a vision of national unity, institutional reform, and economic inclusion.
Mahama emphasized that digital transformation must not leave anyone behind.
“From broadband expansion to training centres in remote villages, this programme is designed for scale and sustainability,” he noted.
In partnership with private sector players, educational institutions, and international allies, OMCP aims to reshape how Ghana learns, works, and innovates.
“This is Ghana’s moment—to rise, to lead, to shape the future.”
