TGMA don’t define music success – Kuami Eugene

Kuami Eugene, Ghana’s award-winning musician and “Monica” hitmaker, insists the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) aren’t the ultimate yardstick for success in the music world.

While awards boost an artist’s brand and career, he says they don’t capture the full scope of one’s journey or accomplishments.

The 2020 Artiste of the Year winner still eyes more honors, like reclaiming that top prize, but refuses to let results dictate his joy or value.

Eugene emphasizes that true success transcends trophies it’s about the lasting impact of your music and unwavering consistency.

He’s long voiced worries about the cutthroat industry, once calling it a “bloody game” where validation drives desperate moves, especially after the 2024 TGMA.
