The annual “Battle for Independence” Independence Day Armwrestling Championship, organized by the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, is scheduled to take place in Accra on March 7, 2025.
Top Ghanaian armwrestlers will compete against their neighbors in an exciting show of strength and skill at the event. To win medals, prizes, and the right to brag, athletes will compete in a variety of weight classes.
Africa’s top female armwrestler, Grace Minta, is part of the talented Ghanaian lineup, which also includes Mabel Yeboah, Daniel Acquah, Henry Otoo, Prince Affum, Charles Osei Asibey Jr., Afia Kumah, and Issah Kunya. This year’s competition will have guest pullers from Nigeria, Benin, and Togo, adding an international flavor.
Charles Osei Asibey, president of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, stated that he had high hopes for the event,’ “This year’s Independence Armwrestling Challenge will be bigger and better than ever. With a strong lineup of both local and international athletes, we anticipate a thrilling competition that will highlight the best of West African Armwrestling.”
The “Battle for Independence” Armwrestling Championship will be televised live, giving fans nationwide a chance to witness the action up close.
