The Okyereko flooding in pictures

Three houses have collapsed so far.

Several acres of onion, rice, and vegetable farms and three large fishponds have completely submerged.

Flooding affects three communities in Ghana’s Central Region

The flooding has been caused by a diversion of the natural course of the Ayensu River which takes its source from the Eastern Region and crosses the Kasoa-Winneba Highway at Okyereko before joining the sea by the contractor working on the road expansion.
