Villarreal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two additional counts of rape in the United Kingdom, according to confirmation from the British Metropolitan Police.
The Ghana international had previously been charged in August 2025 with five counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault. Partey has pleaded not guilty to those earlier charges, and the case remains ongoing.
The latest allegations reportedly stem from a separate complaint filed in 2020 and involve a third alleged victim. The new charges add to the existing legal proceedings the 32-year-old is currently facing.
Partey is scheduled to appear before a London court on Friday, March 13, where he is expected to enter a plea in relation to the new accusations. He remains on bail in connection with the initial case involving two other complainants.
The former Arsenal midfielder left London on a free transfer after his legal troubles became public and signed a two-year contract with Spanish side Villarreal last summer. Despite criticism from some supporters, the club defended its decision at the time, citing the presumption of innocence. Villarreal has yet to comment on the latest development.
