Member of Parliament for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has alleged that three key figures linked to the controversial $108 million ambulance deal have left Ghana.
Ablakwa named Stephen Okereke Elendu Kalu Okoro, Frank Agyekum Boateng, and Vivian Oppong Kyekyeku as the three individuals who have fled the country.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the North Tongu lawmaker revealed that Stephen Okoro, a longtime business partner of President Akufo-Addo’s daughters, Gyankroma and Edwina, left Ghana on November 27, 2024, aboard a British Airways flight to the UK.
According to him, Stephen Okoro presented two passports to immigration authorities – a Nigerian passport and a Ghanaian passport.
The North Tongu lawmaker also alleged that Stephen Okoro was involved in several business partnerships with the president’s daughters, including SFO Initiatives Limited, Goodbox Limited, and Good Grow Limited.
Furthermore, Ablakwa claimed that Frank Agyekum Boateng, another key figure in the ambulance deal, left Ghana on November 26, 2024, for Washington, using a United Airlines flight.
Vivian Oppong Kyekyeku, the third individual implicated in the deal, allegedly left Ghana on August 31, 2024, for New York, using a Delta flight.
Ablakwa expressed concern that these individuals had fled the country, stating that “they can run but they surely can’t hide. Judgment day has come. The Ghanaian people shall have the accountability they have been yearning for.”
The ambulance deal has been marred by controversy, with the Auditor-General documenting several damning illegalities.
Ablakwa’s exposé in July revealed that the deal was inflated, and that the companies involved were hastily incorporated and single-sourced.
