The Transport Operators Association of Ghana has announced a 15% increase in transport fares effective Monday, July 22, 2024.
The association attributed the increment to the recent surge in petroleum prices and economic hardship.
Some oil marketing companies have adjusted their prices at the pumps, with Shell increasing its petrol price from GHȼ14.80 to GHȼ15.10 per litre and diesel from GH¢14.92 to GHȼ15.25 per litre.
The association urged the public to take note of the increment and cooperate with transport operators.
The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana (C-DAG) and True Drivers Union endorsed the announcement.
