Member of Parliament for the Korle Klottey Constituency, Dr. Zenator Agyeman-Rawlings, has called for accelerated action to achieve gender equality in the country.
In a statement marking International Women’s Day on Saturday, March 8, 2025, she emphasized the need to move beyond words and take concrete steps towards true equity.
“True equity requires us to back our words with action,” Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings stressed.
“Let us accelerate action for gender equality,” she wrote on Facebook.
The lawmaker, who represents the Klottey-Korle Constituency, acknowledged the significant contributions women are making in various sectors of Ghanaian society.
“From classrooms to the markets, from boardrooms to Parliament – our contributions are undeniable,” she noted.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings, who is also a medical doctor and humanitarian, urged women to challenge biases and uplift each other.
Meanwhile, First Lady Lordina Mahama has emphasized the need for collective action to achieve gender equality and representation in national life.
Madam Lordina Mahama wrote on social media that this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Accelerate Action” is a powerful call to step up our efforts to achieve gender equality and representation in national life.
She expressed her trust in President Mahama’s leadership to continue advancing women’s issues and achieving gender parity.
