The Northern Regional Chairman of the Garment Association of Ghana, Abdul Rahaman Awal, has urged parents to encourage their children to prioritize Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
According to Awal, TVET is the surest way to address the growing unemployment situation in the country.
He made the call during the launch of the association’s 10th-anniversary celebration in Tamale.
The association, formed in 2014, marked the occasion by donating homemade products to chiefs’ palaces across the Northern Region for distribution to the public.
They also sensitized parents and students on the importance of TVET education.
Awal emphasized that TVET is the future and encouraged parents and guardians to prioritize it for their wards.
Mohammed Asana, a seamstress, also appealed to young people, especially girls, to take up vocational skills to secure their future.
The association’s anniversary celebration aims to promote TVET and support the growth of the garment industry in the region.
