Police have arrested two men in connection with the killing of the newly enskinned Chief of Yidani, Naa Ntimla Nwenisim, and his son, Ntimla Bilaga.
The suspects, 25-year-old Majejiba Magne and 34-year-old Haruna Nlegle, were arrested following intelligence gathered by the police.
According to the police, preliminary investigations suggest that the attackers entered the chief’s compound and asked to be shown to his room.
When their request was refused, the attackers allegedly fired a shot into the roof of a nearby room before forcing their way into the chief’s room.
The police say the attackers then shot the chief and his son.
The two suspects are now in police custody as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the killings and identify anyone else who may have been involved.
