Two Ghanaian women from the Western North Region have reportedly been sentenced to prison in Iraq, although the reasons for their incarceration remain unclear.
The women, identified as Juliet Amponsah and Charity Eme, are said to be natives of Asempaneye in Sefwi Wiawso.
Reports indicate they were arrested by Iraqi authorities together with several other foreign nationals and have spent several months in prison under difficult conditions.
