The University for Development Studies (UDS) has denied allegations of exam malpractice made in a viral TikTok video, describing the claim as “baseless and damaging.”
In a statement signed by Abdul-Hayi Moomen, Director of Public Affairs, UDS insisted that the video, which alleged that students entered examination halls with pre-prepared answer sheets, was “a false and malicious fabrication.”
“We categorically refute this baseless and damaging claim,” the statement read. “UDS upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and operates under stringent examination policies to ensure fairness, credibility, and transparency.”
The university emphasized that its students undergo rigorous academic training, and its examination processes are closely monitored to maintain its “hard-earned reputation.”
UDS has demanded that the producers of the video retract it and issue a public apology, warning that failure to do so will lead to legal action.
“The right to create and share content comes with the duty to ensure accuracy, fairness, and respect for others’ reputations,” the statement cautioned.
“Misinformation and sensationalism can have serious consequences, especially for institutions like UDS, which thrive on their credibility.”
The university has urged the public to disregard the “misleading content” and continue to support UDS in its mission to provide quality higher education and uphold academic excellence and integrity.
