“It’s an absolute honour and a privilege to be here,” Rayner during a meeting with President Mahama.

Reflecting on President Mahama’s recent election win, she emphasized the shared vision between the two nations for sustainable economic growth.

She drew particular attention to Ghana’s focus on developing a vibrant 24-hour economy, a concept that resonates with the UK’s own economic ambitions.

During her visit, Rayner took time to meet with Ghanaian entrepreneurs, witnessing firsthand their ambition to expand their businesses and create much-needed jobs for the country’s growing workforce.

She expressed her admiration for the dynamism within Ghana’s economy and underscored the importance of fostering environments that support entrepreneurship and job creation.

“The long history of support between our two nations is something we’re committed to continuing,” Rayner remarked.

She reiterated the UK’s commitment to assisting Ghana in its efforts to stimulate economic growth, providing a foundation for long-term prosperity and improved living standards.

“We will be there as a friend, as we always have been, to support and make sure that both our economies can grow,” she added.

Rayner highlighted the alignment between the UK government’s growth-focused agenda and President Mahama’s focus on economic development to improve the quality of life for Ghanaian citizens.

She emphasized that creating good jobs for the people of Ghana, particularly the youth, remains at the core of both governments’ priorities.

The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed optimism about deepening the relationship between the two countries, stating that the UK and Ghana have the potential to achieve great things together.
