Ghana has made a significant step in protecting the health of its children by fully paying its co-financing obligation of $24.5 million for vaccines in 2025 ahead of time.
UNICEF Ghana in a statement said this timely payment will enable the country to procure vaccines on time and reduce the risk of vaccine shortages.
UNICEF Ghana commended the Government of Ghana for its commitment to strengthening the national immunization programme.
The full payment of $24.5 million is expected to sustain progress in protecting children’s health and significantly reduce the risk of vaccine shortages.
