The University of Ghana (UG) has asked applicants seeking admission for the 2026/2027 academic year to log back into the university’s application portal following the release of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.
The university is urging applicants to carefully review their application details and ensure that information submitted to the university is accurate.
In a notice issued by the Academic Affairs Directorate on September 5, 2026, the university specifically asked applicants to check their full names, dates of birth and examination records.
The examination details to be verified include the WASSCE index number, examination month and examination year.
“Following the release of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results, applicants to the University of Ghana (UG) are advised to log in again to the UG applications portal,” the notice stated.
The university is also encouraging applicants to make realistic programme choices based on their WASSCE performance.
Applicants have been directed to consult the university’s 2025/2026 entry cut-off aggregates for various programmes before reviewing their choices.
The notice said this would help applicants make informed decisions about the programmes they select.
Applications still open
UG also clarified that applications for the 2026/2027 academic year remain open for applicants who now have their WASSCE results.
Interested applicants can purchase e-vouchers from designated banks or use the USSD codes 772100# or 776108# across all mobile telecommunication networks.
However, applicants have been given a short window to complete the process.
The university said the application portal will close at 11:59 pm. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026
