A New York-based artificial intelligence (AI) company has announced plans to launch a large-scale AI Workforce Readiness programme aimed at equipping thousands of Ghanaians with modern AI skills, with the long-term goal of training millions over the next three to six years.
The company says the initiative is being undertaken with support from Google and Microsoft and will bring AI technology experts from the United States and Germany to Ghana to deliver hands-on training in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
According to the proposal, participants who successfully complete the programme will receive internationally recognised AI professional certifications accepted across the United States and the European Union, enhancing their opportunities in the global digital job market.
The initiative is expected to prepare Ghana’s workforce for the rapidly evolving AI economy by providing practical skills for students, professionals, entrepreneurs and job seekers.
In a message addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, the company expressed gratitude for the opportunity to present the initiative, describing it as a strategic investment in Ghana’s digital future.
“Our AI company is based in New York, USA. With support from Google and Microsoft, we are bringing AI technology experts from the USA and Germany to train thousands of Ghanaians in AI Workforce Readiness,” the company said.
It added that its strategic vision and detailed implementation proposal are available for consideration.
If implemented, the programme could significantly strengthen Ghana’s digital transformation agenda while positioning the country as one of Africa’s emerging centres for AI talent.
