A Ghanaian nurse living in the United States has been shot and killed during a robbery after an attacker demanded his necklace outside a nightclub, according to reports.
Lartey Solomon was leaving the venue with a friend shortly before 3am when they were confronted by a robber in the parking lot. The suspect allegedly demanded Solomon’s necklace.
Reports say Solomon complied and handed over the jewellery, but the attacker shot him during the encounter.
He died from his injuries.
The suspect is reported to have a criminal record. Authorities are investigating the killing and have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Solomon’s death has left family and friends in mourning. He is survived by his 11-year-old daughter, who lives in Ghana.
