President John Dramani Mahama has nominated celebrated Ghanaian actress, Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe, as Ghana’s Ambassador to Spain.
The appointment was announced in a letter dated June 10, 2024, from the Office of the President.
Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe, known for her iconic roles in Ghanaian films such as “Babina,” “Beyoncé,” and “Her Excellency,” has had a career spanning almost four decades. Her impact extends beyond the film industry, as she is a dynamic executive leader, an astute businesswoman, and a committed public servant.
Kalsoume Sinare’s journey to stardom began in 1989 when she was the first runner-up in the Miss Ghana pageant. She went on to win the prestigious title of Miss Model of Africa at the Miss Model of the World competition in Taiwan in 1990.
Her transition into high-level leadership is attributed to her academic background. She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from GIMPA, a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, and certificates in International Cultural Diplomacy and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
As CEO of multiple companies, including Farikals Productions, Sinare has operations spanning healthcare, construction, trade, and entertainment. Her public service record is equally impressive, having served on the Ghana Tourism Development Board and actively participating in the National Democratic Congress.
Meanwhile, President Mahama has named 12 ambassadors and consuls-general including Benjamin A. Quashie for the Republic of South Africa, Kojo Bonsu for the People’s Republic of China, Hammed Rashid Tunde Ali for the United Arab Emirates, and Captain George Kofi Nfojoh for the Togolese Republic, among others.
