Vice President Bawumia engages with religious leaders in the Ashanti Region

The Vice President of the Republic and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Monday June 11, 2024, continued his ongoing nationwide community outreach in the Ashanti Region, with a meeting with the religious leaders.

He has met with the Imams, Clergy and Zongo Chiefs, where he engaged them on his vision and policies for Ghana when elected President, which include the tax amnesty, realignment of import duty to that of Togo, tackle galamsey with smart policies, training of one million youth in software coding, among others. He has assured them that, Ghana will not agree to the practice of LGBTQ+.

Dr. Bawumia further added that agriculture is one of the sectors he envisions focusing on to secure food security through commercial technology-driven agriculture. Again, cost of electricity will fall by employing solar energy, with the goal of producing 2000 megawatts of solar power, which is equivalent to more than half of Ghana’s electrical demand.

He has as well benefitted from their wise counsel in the implementation of these policies which will further enhance development in the country and has expressed appreciation to them for their time and inspiration.
