Victoria Hardcastle appointed Acting CEO of Petroleum Commission

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mrs. Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Petroleum Commission Act 2011 (Act 821).

The appointment, which takes effect from January 17, 2025, was announced in a letter signed by Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Secretary to the President.

Emeafa Hardcastle holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Banking & Finance from the London School of Economics (LSE), a Barrister at Law qualification from the Ghana School of Law, and a BA in Law and Sociology from the University of Ghana.

According to the letter, the appointment is pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the Board of the Commission, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

The President congratulated the appointee formally and extended his best wishes.

The Petroleum Commission is mandated to regulate and manage the utilization of petroleum resources and coordinate policies in the upstream petroleum sector.
