Vote transfer scandal: NDC demands action against EC officials

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region is demanding a full investigation and prosecution of Electoral Commission (EC) officials involved in the illegal transfer of votes from the region to the Pusiga Constituency in the Upper East Region.

The demand comes after the Northern Regional Electoral Commission reversed the illegal transfers, affecting over 38 voters, who were unaware of the changes.

Two individuals have been arrested in Tamale for their involvement in the scandal.

Mohammed Abdul Salam, Northern Regional Secretary of the NDC, called for due diligence to restore trust in the EC.

He noted that Ghanaians will only have trust in the Electoral Commission if due diligence is done.

Some victims of the illegal transfers also spoke to the media, expressing their frustration.
