VRA warns possible spillage from Akosombo, Kpong dams

The Volta River Authority (VRA) has announced a possible controlled spillage from the Akosombo and Kpong Dams.

In the statement signed by the Chief Executive of the organization, Emmanuel Antwi-Darkwa, the Volta River Authority observed a consistent high rise in the Akosombo reservoir over the past weeks.

According to the statement, the elevation of the reservoir on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, was 273.70 feet and is expected to reach a maximum operational level of 276 feet in the next 11 days.

“We will continue to monitor and review the inflow situation,” VRA said.
